LOUISA, Va. — Service has been restored to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center after the department experience issues with their 911 lines.

Please use 911 service as you normally would in the event you have an emergency. The sheriff’s office said that with Verizon’s assistance, the issue was resolved.

The affected residents were mostly those with Verizon land lines beginning with the numbers (540) 967.

Most reports were of a long silence, then a busy signal when people call 911.

Officials said if this ever happens when you call 911, please hang up and call (540) 967-1234 for immediate assistance.
