Suspects flee after double shooting at Midlothian Village Apartments

RICHMOND, Va. -- A call for multiple gunshots Thursday night, in the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike.

Officers arrived just before 10 p.m. at the Midlothian Village Apartments, and found two victims both shot in the leg.

The two victims lived in separate apartments. Their injuries are non-life threatening, police said.

One victim was taken to VCU Medical and one to Chippenham.

Detectives continue to investigate and have an officer at each hospital to interview victims.

Police said there were four to five black males involved, who approached the victims, and at least one gun was fired. Then they left in a vehicle tentatively identified as a dark SUV with ski racks. It is believed to be headed towards Roanoke Street, leaving on Midlothian.

One victim is  23, the other 29.
