Southside shooting sends 1 to hospital

RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond police are investigating a shooting on Richmond’s Southside Sunday evening.

Police said a man was shot near Sunlight Avenue and Evergreen Avenue around 5:30 p.m.

Officers said the victim was taken to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

A man was fatally wounded nearby last Thursday in the 700 block of 36th Street and Broad Rock Boulevard. [RELATED: Police ID man killed in Southside shooting]
