“A Dodge Nitro driven by an adult male was traveling north on Staples Mill Road when it struck the pedestrian,” Capt. Toney said. “The driver of the Dodge Nitro stopped at the scene.  A second vehicle struck the pedestrian and left the scene without stopping.”

The incident happened near Cross Ridge Shopping Center in Glen Allen. The driver of the Nitro told  CBS 6 said he swerved to avoid the pedestrian.

“Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in this accident concerning the driver of the vehicle that stopped at the scene.  There is no description of the hit and run vehicle,” Capt. Toney said. “At this time, no charges have been placed.”
