RICHMOND, Va. – The Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center is not just for sports anymore. Country music group Rascal Flatts will perform a concert there this fall. The September 27 concert will serve as a benefit for the E.J. Wade Foundation. The Mechanicsville-based non-profit group plans to use net proceeds from the concert to buy disaster relief items like gas-powered generators and bottled water.
“The grounds at the Training Center are the perfect venue to welcome Rascal Flatts to the city of Richmond,” Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones said in a statement. “Bringing quality entertainment coupled with a public service purpose is exactly the type of off-season activity I envisioned the new facility igniting. I’m excited.”
The concert is scheduled for Saturday, September 27 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 1. They are $32.50 via the CenterStage Box Office, online at ETIX.com and by calling 1-800-514-3849.
The Rascal Flatts’ Rewind Tour is the first concert to be held at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center. The training center opened in 2013.
“Our plan is to bring many outdoor concerts and festivals to the grounds each Spring and Fall that appeal to a variety of groups within our community,” Director of Booking and Marketing for SMG Richmond Jackie Knight said. “Previously, folks would have to travel hours to see a huge national act such as Rascal Flatts and we’re thrilled to be able to bring them here to our city.”
