VIDEO: Driver allegedly runs down 64-year-old at Comic-Con zombie walk

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Police have taken a man into custody after he allegedly ran over a woman during a Comic-Con zombie walk Saturday morning.

Onlookers cheered as police put a man accused of plowing through a crowd into a squad car.

San Diego police said the man was with his deaf family in their car waiting for the walkers to go by.

They say he waited several minutes and then rolled through because his small children were afraid of the crowd.

According to police, several people surrounded the car and started punching it, causing the father to drive forward again.

That’s when a 64-year-old woman was struck and fell under the car.

A police statement said the crowd chased the family, which drove toward officers.

The injured woman was taken to a n area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Don’t be a dick. If this happened anywhere else you’l likely be up in arms over someone running over an elderly person so what is the difference here? Because it’s comic books? So the fact that an elderly person was hit by a car is no big deal, and everyone should get over it?

Listen to me, Cornholio, that is not what I am saying. I am saying that fat, pasty-pale nerds shouldn’t work themselves into a frenzy over comic books, so get over it.

Yup, I figured you go the being the dick route. So what should the fat, pasty-faced nerds work themselves in a frenzy over? After all you are so wise and knowledgeable about everything…

While I have complete sympathy for the woman struck I also can also sympathize with the family in the car. I work with Deaf people and am aware of how confusing and frightening that situation would be if you were surrounded by dozens of people surrounding you and pounding on your car and shouting and not having any idea what they are are saying. The whole family is deaf or hearing impaired so none of them could discern what the hell was happening. Add to that the “zombies” were terrifying to his children who wouldn’t want out of there asap? I can believe as the crowd became more aggressive about their leaving the more packed they became. All involved had a part in creating this tragedy, not just the driver.

Why wasn’t the street blocked off for this huge Comic-Con Zombie walk?? That is insane. To pound on his car and smash that window out how do you expect a man not to freak out with his two children in the car? I love Comic-Con, but this is crazy and obnoxious behavior. As a result of it, the man panicked and an accident happened. Hope the lady is okay, but really people, what do you expect acting like that to a complete stranger?

I agree. That old woman didn’t belong at Comic-Con in the first place, and then she starts banging on his car. She got what she deserved. Women have this whole self-entitlement thing going on.

Wait, what? Thank god nobody put you in control. That lady being in front of a car has nothing to do with self-entitlement or what she deserved. The parade had a city approved permit. They could have blocked the road as much as they wanted. Poor organization doesn’t justify this man’s actions.
It could have just as easily been a 5 year old kid under the wheels of that guy’s car. He was aggressive. You can’t deny it. If he was so concerned about his kids fear he wouldn’t have accelerated into a crowd. He was short-sighted, quick to anger, and people were injured because of him. If anything, HE was the one who felt entitled to pass, whatever the cost. He should be in jail and off the streets if he can’t handle normal situations.

Why didn’t she belong at Comic-con? Timmay are you one of those comic nerds that thinks comics and cons are just for dudes? Perhaps you ought to get your own fat pasty faced self out of your mom’s basement and get into a frenzy of losing weight and not being a dick. About the only thing you got right was that she should not have been banging on his car – that is still no excuse to run her over though.

I don’t think old or overweight women should be at Comic-Con.”

Why do you hate women so much Timmay? And why don’t old or overweight women belong at Comic-Con? Because they aren’t pretty enough for you or do all women intimidate you and you stroke your ego by going after old and/or overweight women? Why are you such a dick Timmay?

because they were not apart of zombie walk the actual zombie walk was taking place 4 to 6 block in front of this group where the cops were helping them though. this group had no permit to be there taking up the road they were just following along far behind the acutal group. you can look up were they zombie walkers have already said they had nothing to do with this group.

You listen to me Athynz, how dare you tell me what to think. No one, and I mean NO ONE, likes overweight or old women.

    • athynz

Timmay I’m not telling you how to think – trust me if I thought you capable of such a thing I would not hesitate to but you are obviously incapable of anything other than unreasonable hatred against old and/or overweight women. I just asked why you are such a superficial dick. I get it, you don’t like women… no need to hate on them and there’s no need to be a dick about it.
