Be The Match Walk/Run Saturday, July 26, Brown’s Island, Tredegar Street & 5th Street Footbridge, Event Village opens at 7am; opening program at 8am; Tot Trot 8:20; 5K 8:30; 8:35 1K.  Be The Match Walk/Run is a fundraising event that helps patients with blood cancers like leukemia find a marrow donor and receive a life-saving transplant. Saxon Shoes is clearing space in their Short Pump Store for a free dance class Saturday, July 26. All to celebrate National Dance Day and promote physical fitness. Saxon Shoes has partnered with the American Heart Association Go Red For Women Campaign to bring awareness to heart disease, the number one killer  of women. Richmonders are encouraged to come out, wear red and show your support to help end heart disease in women. Brookland Park Centennial Celebration 1914 to 2014, “One Hundred Years in Richmond” experience the transformation, a celebration to learn about the history of The Brookland Park Neighborhood, performances by City Dance Theatre, Young Prince Charles, RVA Has Talent Band and others, Saturday, July 26, noon – 4pm, Between Fendall Avenue to North Avenue, Streets will be closed from 10am to 6pm Brookland Park Boulevard  between North and Fendall Avenues.  Northside Reunion, Saturday, July 26, noon in Battery Park, free event, open to the public.

Petersburg City Public Schools, Year-round School Kick-off Rally, Saturday, July 26, Peabody Middle School, 725 Wesley Street, Petersburg, 9am – noon, Free backpacks, school supplies, entertainment, food, Immunizations, games, haircuts and much more, Students  must be present to receive free backpack, registration between 9 -9:45am for free backpacks. Items will be distributed at 11:30am.
