RICHMOND, Va. - All lanes of Interstate 95 reopened about 6:23 a.m. Sunday following a fatal motorcycle accident, according to VDOT.

The accident, which happened about midnight, closed lanes on I-95 southbound at mile marker 69, a half mile north of Bells Road.

The motorcyclist, 45-year-old William R. Toler , of Chester, lost control of his motorcycle and ran off the side of the road, striking a barrier, police said. Toler was ejected, and died at the scene.

That motorcycle came to a stop in the middle of the road, where it was struck by a car.

Police say Toler was wearing a helmat at the time of the accident.

The cause crash remained under investigation.
