RICHMOND, Va. - Police released an 12-second video clip of a man wanted for a Midlothian Turnpike robbery. The robbery happened about 8:30 Saturday morning, July 5, at the Midlothian Motor Company.

The man is accused of robbing and attempting to abduct a mechanic. After the robber took money from the register, police said he tried to take the mechanic to an ATM to get even more cash.

When the mechanic got into a car to go to the ATM, he pretended he could not start the car. With the robber distracted, the mechanic took the robber's gun and started to hit him. The robber bit the mechanic's arm and ran off.

Richmond Police described the suspect as a black male, between 5’9 and 5’11 feet tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds.

"He was last seen wearing a dark baseball cap, black shorts and a red shirt with white lettering," police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective William Cutshall at (804) 646-1068 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
