RICHMOND, Va. - After a comfortable holiday weekend, high heat and humidity return the next few days. Southwest winds will send in muggier air to Virginia, and high temperatures will soar into the  95° to 100° range.

The heat index will approach 100° Monday, and should surpass 100° Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday will be our  hottest day this week, with thermometer readings around 100 degrees in the Metro.

In the heat and humidity Tuesday, a few isolated afternoon storms are possible.
