RICHMOND, Va - Recent Richmond high school graduate Ellie Braun traveled to New York City to take a bow on stage at iconic Carnegie Hall and receive recognition for winning a Scholastic Art & Writing Portfolio Gold Medal Award, the highest honor in the Scholastic Awards, for her portfolio “Closet Queens.” The award comes with a $10,000 scholarship. Her artwork is currently on display at Parsons The New School for Design in Manhattan where she will be attending college in the fall. For more information visit online at
