An Afternoon by the River – Pow Wow on the Landing

On most days you can find boats docked in the bay or on the river at Osborne Boat Landing & Park in Henrico Country, on Saturday, June 28th, the park will serve as a gathering spot for Pow Wow on the Landing, a day to experience everything Native American.

Youghtanund, a local, Inter-Tribal Native American Drum Group in conjunction with Henrico County Recreation and Parks is hosting the event at Osborne Park, 9530 Osborne Turnpike from noon – 6pm. Pow Wow on the Landing will have traditional Native American dance and drum groups, local and from the east coast. The event will also have crafts for sale, cultural demonstrations and food. Organizers suggest to come early and carpool, the on site parking is limited.

Grand Entry and Opening Ceremonies are at noon, Inter-Tribal Dancing and Exhibition Dances at 12:30pm, and the closing ceremony is at 5:45pm. The Emcee is Dennis W.
