Memorial 5K race planned in honor of fallen VSP Trooper Andrew Fox

BURKES GARDEN, Va. (WTVR) — Family and friends of fallen Virginia State Police Trooper Andrew Fox have planned a memorial race to raise money to establish a scholarship in his name.

Fox died in the line of duty on October 5 when he was struck by a car while working a traffic assignment in Hanover County during the State Fair of Virginia.

The 1st Annual Trooper Andrew D. Fox “727” Memorial 5K will take place August 2, at 9 a.m. on Route 727 in Burke’s Garden.

Pre-registration will begin online on May 30 and go through July 1. Click here to sign up to run.

All proceeds from the run will go towards the Trooper Andrew D. Fox Scholarship Fund that has been created at Tazewell High School in Fox’s name.
