HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers found a loaded gun in a carry-on bag at Richmond International Airport Tuesday, according to TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein.

The Midlothian man who had the .357 caliber firearm, loaded with five rounds, in his bag was cited on a weapons charge.

“It marks the second time this month that TSA officers have detected a firearm at the checkpoint,” Farbstein said. “The TSA officer who was staffing the checkpoint X-ray machine detected the handgun inside the traveler’s carry-on bag as it passed along the conveyor belt.”

There was no impact to airport operations, she said.
