BOSTON –  A Massachusetts mom received an apology from JetBlue airlines after an incident that left the young daughter sitting in a puddle of her own urine. Jennifer Deveraux and her daughters were on a flight from New York to Boston last week that got delayed on the runway.

During the delay, Deveraux’s three-year-old daughter told her mom she had to use the bathroom. The flight attendant, Deveraux said, refused to let the mother take her child to use the restroom. The child ended up urinating on herself.

Deveraux was furious.

Over the weekend, JetBlue called Deveraux to make amends.

“She said I am a mom too. I understand what you are going through and I am so sorry this happened to you,” Devereaux  said. “I didn’t care about a voucher. That kind of stuff doesn’t matter to me. But I did want an apology for my family because we really felt we were mistreated and felt awful about.”

The airline said it planned to put its workers through sensitivity training. The airline also offered the family a $50 credit and to make a  $5,000 donation to a charity of their choice.
