DELAND, Fla. -– A Florida woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing lobster tails from a grocery store by hiding them in her pants.

DeLand police said Nichole Reed ordered seven lobster tails valued at $11.99 apiece just before 2 p.m. at a Publix supermarket in Volusia County.

WKMG reportsthat a loss prevention officer in the store alerted police to the robbery after security video showed the woman stuffing the tails down her pants.

Officers located Reed nearby the store reportedly with the lobster tails still in the front of her pants.

Reed told officers that she planned to trade the tails for “Chinese buffet or Dilaudid,” a prescription painkiller.

Reed was booked into Volusia County Jail, but later posted bond and was released.
