RICHMOND, Va. – It can’t really be happening, can it? Earlier this year a group of music fans came up with an idea to convince the Foo Fighters to play a concert in Richmond.

The group, which called itself ‘Help bring the Foo Fighters back to RVA!,’ started selling $50 tickets to a concert that did not yet exist. The group hoped to raise $70,000 in a few weeks to convince the band Richmond deserved a concert. The Foo Fighters have not played in Richmond since 1998.

While ticket sales have come up a bit short so far ($30,000 since March), the group decided to extend its campaign after it received acknowledgment from the band.

“Oh hey. Did the official account just favorite our last tweet. Why yes they did. Hmmmm,” the @foofighters_rva account tweeted. “You may want to grab your tix over the next two weeks. Just saying.”

“There’s zero risk,” organizer Andrew Goldin said in an earlier interview about the online ticket sales. “Either the band will come and play and you’ll get what you paid for or they won’t come and everyone gets every penny back. We’re not making a dime off this. In fact, we’ll never even see the money. Crowdhoster (the crowd funding site we’re using) holds on to all money and then if the show happens, the money will be transferred to the band, venue, etc.”

I do not know if it’s just me or if perhaps everyone else
encountering problems with your blog. It seems like some of
the written text in your posts are running off the screen.
Can someone else please comment and let me know if this is happening
to them as well? This could be a issue with my web browser because
I’ve had this happen before. Appreciate it
