DENVER, Colo. - Two children in Colorado suffered minor injuries when the bounce slide they were playing on went airborne after a wind gust. Parents and other children watched helplessly as wind blew the inflatable slide across a field and into the middle of a lacrosse game.

"All of a sudden, it picks up and there's a girl going down the slide. She flies out about eight feet in the air," one witness said.

While the 10-year-old girl was thrown from the bounce house right way, an 11-year-old boy continued to tumble another 200 to 300 feet before the slide came to a stop.

The company that operated the slide said it maintained safety precautions, including having staff members onsite.

"We did have the inflatable properly staked to the ground. We do wish that we had been able to foresee the microburst wind and shut the ride down prior to this incident occurring," the company spokesman said.

Last month children playing inside a bouncy house in Upstate New York were injured when wind sent it flying into the air.
