Car hits ambulance

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va.  – A member of an Eagle Medical Transport ambulance crew was checked out for minor injures after an afternoon accident in Midlothian.

A car collided with the ambulance near the intersection of Old Hundred Road and Creekpointe Circle.

“The ambulance was stopped on Old Hundred Road when a Dodge Neon ran into the back of it,” Chesterfield Police spokeswoman Liz Caroon said in an email. “The driver of the Neon, an 18-year-old female, was charged with following too closely.”

There were no patients in the ambulance which transports people between hospitals.

The accident about about 1:15 p.m.

The ambulance sustained very little damage in the crash.
