Man points gun, robs woman at drive-thru ATM

HOPEWELL, Va. (WTVR) – Police are looking for the man who walked up to a car outside the Wells Fargo bank on South 15th Ave. in Hopewell, pointed a gun at the woman driver and robbed her at the ATM.

The robbery happened Monday about 9:17 p.m.

It took the robber about a minute to appear, get the money and run off, Hopewell Police Sergeant Michael Langford said.

“The victim was not injured after handing over the cash,” police said. “The lone offender then fled the area on foot.”

Security cameras captured images of the crime. Police described the suspect as a “black male in his mid to late teens, wearing all black clothing and a black hat with a ‘NY’ symbol.”
