RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- Richmond police are searching for a man wearing a three-piece suit who tried to abduct a teenage girl Wednesday afternoon.

Officials said the girl was walking in the 2800 block of Fairfield Avenue around 3:30 p.m. when a two-door red car drive past her a few times.

The the teen told police she was suddenly grabbed from behind by a man that told her to get into his vehicle.

"It's crazy. I can tell you that," said Kyleek Ross.

Kyleek Ross who lives this neighborhood tells CBS 6 - it sits between Fairfield and Creighton courts two Elementary schools nearby.

Where kids are walking to and from their homes. And he's worried about his own families safety.

"It concerns me alot because I wouldn't want my little sister or my little brother, or even my mom to walk pass these streets, and anybody try to get her," said Ross.

Sargeant Angela Smith says the victim did everything right in this case. By first paying attention to her surroundings.

And she wants other teens to follow this advice.

"In this type of situations. I would suggest that teenagers walk in groups or walk with someone. If they have cellular phones make sure they have them on. So, if anything happens, they're able to call 911," said Det. Sgt. Angela Smith.

The suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his late 30s to early 40s. He was described as having several pockmarks on his face and was last seen wearing a three-piece, dark gray suit with a pin-striped gray hat that matched the suit.

If you have information that could help investigators, call Major Crimes Detective Mary Gary at 646-6759, Detective Sgt. Angela Smith at 804-646-3922 or Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
