RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- The face of Richmond Public Schools is speaking out about what she thinks could have put her job in jeopardy.

Felicia Cosby, who served as the spokesperson for the school system for eight years, has been on paid administrative leave for a month.

Cosby responded to allegations that she gave alcohol to an adult intern during an exclusive interview with CBS 6 News reporter Sandra Jones on Friday.

"These are personnel matters and they should not be leaked -- and they have been.  And because of that, I feel that my reputation has been damaged," said Cosby.

Cosby broke her silence and defended her reputation against what she calls erroneous, leaked information.

Sandra Jones questions Felicia Cosby Friday afternoon in Richmond.

"It's extremely unfortunate. It's extremely hurtful and I am extremely concerned," Cosby said.

Cosby's job has come under fire this year after an allegation dating back to 2010 accusing her of giving alcohol to an adult intern inside her City Hall office, which is considered school property and falls under the drug and alcohol free policy.

WineCosby, who calls herself an amateur vintner who makes wine with and without alcohol, said she would not have knowingly violated a school policy. In fact, she said she would have never brought alcohol to work.

When asked why she thought someone leaked the allegations, Cosby responded, "I really can't speak to that. I have my suspicions."

Jones asked Cosby if she felt targeted by the district's new superintendent, Dr. Dana Bedden, has made many administrative changes since he took over.

"I don't know about that. Yes, he is bringing new people," said Cosby.  "Absolutely, he's the new superintendent."

CBS 6 News has reported on recent incidents involving other school leaders who were re-assigned to other positions. Cosby feels she should get the same consideration.

"Let's just say I hope that we can continue discussions and come up with a resolution," Cosby said, when asked if she plans to come back.

CBS 6 reached out to school Bedden for an interview, but he declined the request calling the allegations a personnel matter. School board members would not comment either.

Cosby's contract expires on June 30. That's when Bedden will decide if she keeps her job.
