CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Several neighbors called CBS 6 Friday morning after they woke up and found Ku Klux Klan fliers in their yards. The literature was placed inside Ziploc bags, along with rocks to keep it from flying away.

Some living in the Ashton Woods South Subdivision, just off Salem Church Road, were alarmed to see the fliers.

They contained history of the group and also claimed the KKK was "misunderstood" and "not a hate group."

One neighbor who spoke with CBS 6 reporter Jerrita Patterson said the mere fact someone was in her community overnight passing out the leaflets, left her feeling anxious.

"You know this is a harmful group--the KKK, they are not kind to everyone," Chesterfield resident Rosa Morris said. "And it concerns me that those type of people are around here anyway."

CBS 6 also received calls from those living in Chesterfield's Five Forks Subdivision, claiming similar fliers were left there as well.
