A cold front passed through our area Sunday evening, and the week started off a little cool.

A major change in the overall weather pattern has taken place since then, and hotter and slightly more humid air has pushed into the area.

Highs for Thursday and Friday will be near or slightly above 90°.  This will be well above the normal high for this year, which is in the mid to upper 70s.  The warmest day of the year thus far at Richmond International has been 85° on April 4.

Highs over the weekend will be a few degrees cooler due to some extra clouds and the threat for a few showers and thunderstorms.

Very warm air will continue for the first half of next week.  A stronger system and cold front will push through the area Wednesday into Thursday, bringing a higher chance of rain and storms.  Behind this system, it will be a lot cooler for the end of next week.
