CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – The family of Tyler Patnaude, a Cosby High School student killed in an April car crash, set-up a memorial fund to help honor the teenager.

The Tyler Patnaude Memorial Fund will help establish a memorial sailing regatta in Tyler’s name, according to the GoFundMe site. Patnaude was an avid sailor.

“The amount of people rallying around my sister, brother-in-law and niece will live on in all of our hearts forever,” Tyler’s uncle Carlos Fulton said. “What a testimony to the power of community and love.”

The site has raised $4,800 of its $10,000 goal as of May 1.

The family is planning memorial regattas in both Chesterfield and Texas. Tyler and his family moved to Chesterfield from Texas two years ago.
