RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- The third annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon Tea took place Sunday at the Westin Hotel on West Broad Street.
CBS 6’s Antoinette Essa joined in to celebrate the lives of survivors and remember those who have lost the fight against the disease.
The goal of the event, hosted by the American Cancer Society, is to raise $30,000.
“We are the only organization that provides direct patient services," the American Cancer Society's Corliss Hamilton said. "A survivor can call our office and speak to a cancer specialist who will give them information... They can come into our office and get wigs. We make sure that we're actually serving the survivors.”
The event also included a fun hat fashion show featuring breast cancer survivors.
