HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – No one was seriously injured when a car drove into the Wells Fargo in the Brandy Hill Shopping Center along Mechanicsville Turnpike near Lee Davis High School Tuesday morning. One bank worker suffered a minor injury from shattered glass, according to Hanover County Sheriff’s spokesman Chris Whitley.

The 84-year-old driver mistook the gas pedal for the brake pedal prior to driving through the bank, Whitley said. The driver has since been charged with reckless driving.

Building inspectors found no structural damage as a result of the crash. The accident caused between $20,000 and $30,000 in damage to the bank.
