UPDATE: Missing woman found dead in car

CHARLES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Charles City County deputies are calling Monday’s discovery of a woman’s body a death investigation, and tell CBS 6 the exact cause of death will be determined at the Medical Examiner’s office.

Twenty-six-year-old Lashanda Monic Jones was last seen leaving the Sunoco gas station at the intersection of Route 10 in Prince George and Route 106 on Easter Sunday.

A little more than a day after her disappearance, Jones was found unresponsive inside her car off a dirt road in the lower section of Charles City County.

Jones was pronounced dead on the scene and her body was taken to the Richmond Medical Examiner’s office.

Capt. Jason Crawley told CBS 6 by phone that as of 9 p.m. Monday, investigators do not suspect foul play.
