SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Authorities say a missing 81-year-old man with dementia from Spotsylvania was located in North Carolina Tuesday afternoon.
Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office deputies said Jess Edward Gratehouse was spotted in the Charlottesville, Spotsylvania and Lynchburg areas within the last 12 hours — and is likely confused about where he is.
Officials announced Tuesday afternoon that Gratehouse was found in Greensboro, NC in good condition. His family was notified and he was transported to an area hospital to be checked out as a precaution.
Gratehouse, who recently moved to Virginia from Texas, was last seen by family members around 11 a.m. Monday. They said his credit card was last used at 6 p.m. Monday in the New Market area of the state.
