Petersburg, VA – Richard Bland College announced today that qualified Richard Bland College students who have completed prerequisite courses will be guaranteed admission into the University of Richmond School of Professional & Continuing Studies (SCPS).

This articulation agreement will lead students directly into a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts or a Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies.

Students from Richard Bland College who have completed an associate’s degree, have a grade point average of 2.0 out of 4.0 from all college work attempted, and meet standard admissions requirements will be admitted to SPCS.

“Access and seamless pathways to prestigious colleges and universities is a significant part of why students attend Richard Bland College. By saving students time and money on their journey to a baccalaureate degree, this agreement with the University of Richmond fulfills a promise that we make to our students,” said Richard Bland College President Debbie L. Sydow, Ph.D.

“This partnership is important for our two institutions and ultimately for the students who choose to participate,” said University of Richmond School of Professional & Continuing Studies Dean James L. Narduzzi, Ph.D.

“Students who complete the required coursework at Richard Bland College will be able to continue their studies at Richmond’s SCPS and graduate with a degree in such fields as, Human Resource Management, IT Management and Paralegal Studies, which are immediately employable.”
