MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WTVR) - Parents post photos of their children on Facebook as a way to keep friends and family up to date on what's happening in their lives. While some parents hope to get likes or even comments on the pictures, one Memphis-area mother got much more - a medical diagnosis.

After posting a picture of her three-year-old daughter Rlyee on Facebook,  Tara Taylor's friends noticed something was wrong.

The photo shows Rylee's left eye glowing. Taylor's friends noticed the glow and told the mom to take Rylee to the doctor.

“They said ‘Hey, I’m sure it’s nothing. It’s probably the lighting, but your daughter’s eye is glowing and you might want to have it checked out because it’s a sign there could be an issue with her eye,’” Taylor told WREG.com.

Doctors later diagnosed Rlyee with Coat’s disease - a rare condition that causes vision loss or blindness in one eye.
