CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — A pizza delivery driver was robbed after making a delivery to a home on a quiet Chesterfield cul-de-sac over the weekend.

The robbery happened at 9:40 p.m. Saturday and was reported to police. The suspect did display a weapon but no one was hurt, according to the report.

Charles Scott, who lives in the neighborhood, said police told residents about the robbery the next day.

“Detectives went through,” Soctt said. “They came door to door.”

Scott, whose son ordered the pizza from Pizza Express Saturday night, said he wasn’t worried about the robbery that took place outside his home.

“Things happen everywhere,” he said. “It’s not really alarming, it just makes us aware of things.”

Employees at Pizza Express in Chester Village declined to comment on the robbery. The company will be posting a statement on their website soon,  one worker said.

Police told residents that this was the second pizza-delivery robbery this year, Scott said.

When asked if his family will be ordering pizza again this week, Scott said his family will definitely be continuing their Thursday-night pizza tradition.

“We’re fine, we’re not scared,” he said.

Scott and one of his neighbors described the area as a great, quiet neighborhood with families and lots of kids.

The suspect was described as a black male, 20-23 years old and about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a red shirt and dark colored pants.
