Man falls 350 feet off Grand Canyon rim, dies

(CNN) — A Texas man died after falling off the south rim of the Grand Canyon, officials at the national park said Monday.

John N. Anderson of Grapevine, Texas, was visiting the park with family on Saturday morning when he fell about 350 feet near the El Tovar Lodge.

Park rangers found Anderson but were unable to resuscitate him.

The National Park Service and the Coconino County, Arizona, medical examiner are investigating the incident.
