A Youth Open House in the Performing and Visual Arts

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR): The wait is almost over for the Genworth Lights up! Youth Open House. The free open house is Saturday, March 22 featuring more than 40 workshops, lecture-demonstrations and performances for children and youth ages 3-18 at Richmond CenterStage, 600 East Grace Street.

Resident Companies like Virginia Repertory Theatre, Latin Ballet of Virginia, Richmond Ballet, Richmond Symphony, The Elegba Folklore Society, Art 180 and SPARC will present music, theater, dance and visual arts workshops throughout the day starting at noon. There will also be live performances by Richmond Ballet’s Team XXL, Latin Ballet of Virginia, Virginia Repertory Theatre, Silly Bus and SPARC with samples of Urine Town the Musical.

Participants can pre-register on-line through Thursday, March 20th and on site starting at 10:30am. Workshops, lecture-demonstrations and performances are from noon – 5pm. For more information visit or get updates from Facebook under “Richmond CenterStage.
