GOOCHLAND, Va. (WTVR) – Students who attend Goochland County schools will go to school a little longer this summer all thanks to a snowy winter.

“The school board approved the recommendation to extend the school year by five days. The last day of school is now June 6,” Goochland County Public Schools posted on its Facebook page.

In addition to extending the school year, Goochland elementary schools will begin dismissing students at 3:15 p.m. starting March 17.
