RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- New documents are revealing more about former Gov. Bob McDonnelland his wife, Maureen McDonnell, and their plan for their approaching trial.

According to court documents filed in U.S. District Court in Richmond, the McDonnells plan to file a motion to dismiss the indictment they were served last month.

The former governor and his wife were indicted in connection to their relationship with political donor Jonnie Williams Sr. of Star Scientific. Last month the McDonnells entered not guilty pleas to federal charges that they accepted illegal gifts while in office.

Dozens of motions have been filed within the last week, and some of them revealed more about the possible means of defense the McDonnells plan to use in court, including referencing activities of other former governors, and potentially implicating former staffers.
