MYRICK, Miss. - A floor collapsed Wednesday night at the Freedom Baptist Church, located in Myrick, Mississippi. The second floor gave way while 79 kids ranging from grades seven through 12 were in the building.
The kids in the church dropped about 12 feet into a gymnasium below. Thirty-five people were hurt and 16 of them were injured seriously enough to have to go to the hospital.
One child was airlifted to a nearby hospital because of injuries to the head. At this time officials are calling the injuries minor.
Myrick is about two hours outside of Jackson, Mississippi. The case is still under investigation.
