More firefighters called to battle blaze at Chips plant

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Firefighters are battling a large blaze at a wood processing plant in Louisa County.

It’s happening at the Chips, Inc. plant, which makes wood pellets and fence posts, at 26 Zion Park Rd. in Troy.

According to Major Donnie Lowe, Louisa County is getting help from nearby fire departments to fight the blaze.

Lowe said the very smokey fire is burning in a silo and that officials are worried the blaze will spread.
