CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WTVR) — Hundreds of people gathered at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville Monday morning to remember slain Waynesboro Police Department reservist Captain Kevin Quick.
Quick's family and police departments from across the state, including Henrico, Chesterfield and Arlington County, were present to pay their respects. Gov. Terry McAuliffe ordered flags to be flown at half staff through sunset to honor Quick.
After the memorial, a private service took place for Quick's family, close friends and members of the law enforcement community.

The 45-year-old’s body was found on Feb. 6 in rural Goochland County six days after he vanished after leaving his mother’s Afton home.
Six people were arrested over the course of the investigation into Quick’s disappearance and death. No one has been charged with his murder.
He leaves behind a four-month-old daughter.
