February 7th is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

RICHMOND, VA. (WTVR) - Friday, February 7th, 2014 is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and in Richmond The Renewal Projects and 31st Street Baptist Church are sponsoring "United Voices: Raising Awareness Through Song & Word" on Friday, February 7 from 6:30 - 8:30 at 31st Street Baptist Church in Church Hill, 823 North 31st Street.

The Celebration of Life program features community leaders and guest speakers sharing the personal stories of persons living with HIV/AIDS and to raise awareness of the disease in Richmond and surrounding areas.

There will be musical performances by the Gospel Gents, The Spiritual Harmonizers, Trinity Baptist Mass Choir and 7th Street Baptist Church Choir and other performers. The program also features readers who will share the personal stories of persons living with HIV/AIDS, they include Antoinette Essa of CBS 6, Clovia Lawrence of Radio One, Council Members Dr. Cynthia Newbille, Ellen Robertson and other local Richmonders.
