RICHMOND, Va (WTVR) — A 20-year-old Chesterfield man who was arrested last year for stealing an ambulance has now been arrested for stealing a Richmond fire truck.

The fire truck was taken from the Richmond’s fleet facility on Commerce Road, according to Richmond Police, sometime between Feb. 3 and Feb. 4.  The truck is a small firetruck, about the size of an ambulance.

Zachary D. Oakey, of North Chesterfield, was charged with burglary and grand larceny in connection with the crime.

Richmond police said their investigation remains ongoing and that more arrests are possible.

Henrio police arrested Oakey last fall for stealing an ambulance from the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Oakey was charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny after rescue squad volunteers told police on Oct. 30 that they noticed someone pried open a window in the rescue squad building and entered the squad’s garage bay.

Several people later spotted the stolen ambulance driving along Patterson Ave. Wednesday afternoon.  Police pulled it over near the intersection of Patterson Ave. and Gaskins Rd. where they arrested Oakey.
