RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Residents who live near Sussex Street in the city’s East End could experience some loud noises and road closures due to a sanitary sewer project for up to a year.

According to The Richmond Department of Public Utilities, residents can expect “loud impact hammering from time to time from 7a.m. to 4p.m.”

Noise and vibrations are expected from dump trucks, excavators, cranes, and impact hammers.

Residents along Sussex street between Hospital and Carmine streets can also expect brief disruptions of gas, water, or sewer service.

GRTC and school bus stops will be temporarily adjusted due to the street closures.

The department also stated that some residents may have to access their homes through rear entrances during parts of the project.
