UPDATE: “The Boulevard off ramp (exit 78) on I-95 south is now closed,” according to VDOT. “Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route. Delays remain at 1.5 miles on both I-95 south and I-64 east. Expect delays.”
RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – An accident has closed Boulevard in both directions between Interstate 95 and the Diamond. The driver of a pick up truck said he lost control when his truck hit a patch of ice while he exited the interstate Thursday morning.
His truck slammed into a utility pole.
The pole crashed down on the truck and live electrical wires fell on the road.
Boulevard is closed in both directions for clean up.
The driver said he was not hurt.
The crash has resulted in traffic back ups on Boulevard and Interstate 95.
At 8 a.m., traffic was backed up about four miles on Interstate 95 south near the Boulevard exit.

Henrico’s the same way. Parent’s complaining schools are closed yet the three streets I travel before getting to a main street are still pure ice!! I know the road crews are working around the clock but hope the schools don’t open before they do.
