CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – After nearly a full week’s worth of snow days in Central Virginia, Chesterfield County Schools, Richmond Public Schools and King William County Schools have opted to make Monday, Jan. 27, a normal school day. Monday had been a teacher work day.

“Thank you for your patience as we worked through the predicted and subsequently realized winter weather,” Chesterfield Schools posted on Facebook. “In order to accommodate testing and other work that was scheduled to have occurred this week for first-semester credit, the end of the first semester will now be Friday, Jan. 31. The report card schedule will be pushed back a week.”

Richmond Public Schools announced Thursday that students would report to school Monday since classes had been canceled because of winter weather.

“Due to school closings January 21-24, Monday, January 27, is no longer scheduled as a teacher work day. All teachers, students and staff are expected to report on Monday, January 27, for a regular school day,” officials said.

Additionally, King William schools announced students and teachers would have school Monday. That day had been previously scheduled as a student holiday.

Petersburg students will also have classes on Friday, Jan. 31, which had been a scheduled teacher workday.

“The superintendent is working on options to accommodate the additional school days missed – due to the storm,” according to the school system’s website.

Monday will remain a parent-teacher conference day for Henrico County students. As a result, students will not report to school. [BONUS: Click here to find out why school leaders said they are tweaking their calendar]
