(WTVR) — Misbranding and an undeclared allergen have forced the recall of several Velveeta cheeseburger products.

Truitt Brothers Inc. announced Saturday that 1.77 million pounds of “Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles-Ultimate Cheeseburger Mac” were being voluntarily pulled from store shelves.

The products were made with hydrolyzed soy protein and dried soy sauce, known allergens, which are not declared on some labels.

The recalled product are 3.3-pound cases containing six, 9-ounce microwaveable containers of “Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles – Ultimate Cheeseburger Mac with a Used By/Sell By date code of “02 March 2014 – 23 Oct. 2014.” [Case codes are: 00210000432900, 00210000432910, 00210000432925, 00210000464000 and 00210000465100.]

The products, which were produced between May 6, 2013 and Jan. 16, 2014, were shipped to Kraft Foods distribution centers and stores across the nation.

No other Velveeta or Kraft products were affected by the recall.

The company thinks the problem occurred when a label supplier mixed labels with incorrect ingredient lines with labels containing correct ingredient information.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service have received no reports of adverse reactions due to the undeclared ingredients.
