CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) -- The son of the reverend Billy Graham is asking for prayers for his ailing father.

The reverend Franklin Graham said Friday that his father was very weak. This after Graham was hospitalized last year after his 95th birthday for respiratory issues.

"He's doing ok, just ok. After he was hospitalized right after his birthday in November and his vitals are good but he just does not have strength."

Graham also said that his father would appreciate everyone's prayers.

"My father is ready to go to Heaven and whenever that day comes, he's ready," said Graham. "He's worked hard all of his life and faithful to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ his entire life. And so he's ready to go home and I'm praying that the Lord will leave him a little longer. We need him."

Graham was released from the hospital days after he was admitted following tests on his lungs.
