Police ID body found in James River on New Year’s Eve

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Police have identified the body found in the James River on New Year’s Eve.

Police said they identified the victim as a 46-year-old white male, but are not releasing his name at this time.

Officials said they are not certain how he died.

The Henrico Fire Search and Rescue Dive Team recovered the man’s body near Osborne Landing on New Year’s Eve after a tugboat driver spotted a body in the James River.

Officials said their investigation continues.

    “police identified a body but have not released the name” well then I don’t care. I already know they found a body.

    It’s obviously the guy who was last seen at the War Memorial, Sam Hoyt. Such a sad situation.
