RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Scattered rain showers will continue to track northeast through central and eastern Virginia through lunch-time. There may be a few wet snowflakes as the rain ends before lunch, but there will be no snow accumulation. Rainfall accumulations should be about a quarter-inch or less.

A strong cold front sweeping through the Commonwealth this morning is shifting our winds from the west. This will keep us blustery today, and also bring in much colder air into Virginia through the day. Temperatures will fall through the day Monday as polar air plunges over the mountains into central Virginia. We'll experience three seasons today! Before sunrise, it's felt like Spring with temperatures in the lower 60s, rain showers and blustery southerly winds. By lunch-time, you get Fall-like weather. Skies will become partly cloudy, winds will be blustery from the west, and it'll feel chilly in the mid-40s. By sunset, we'll feel like we're back in Winter, with clearing skies, wind chills in the teens and air temperatures around freezing.

There is a Wind Chill Advisory for all of central and eastern Virginia tonight through Tuesday. Wind chill values will range from five to ten degrees below zero. The worst wind chills will be in the mountains of western Virginia, where a Wind Chill Warning is in effect for chills ranging 25 to 35 below zero!
