SUV stolen from Carytown restaurant recovered

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — An SUV stolen from a Carytown restaurant when the business was robbed over the weekend has been located.

The robbery happened at Carytown Burgers and Fries in the 3500 block of W. Cary St. sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Mike Barber, the owner of Carytown Burgers and Fries, said someone kicked down the  restaurant’s door, stole a cash register and a laptop. The thief also grabbed the keys to the business’ Land Rover and took off.

Richmond police said the SUV was discovered around noon on Sunday in the 1500 block of New York Ave.

Police are searching for a suspect.
