HENRICO, Va. (WTVR)–This makes four suspected robberies for the man dubbed the “smooth criminal,” due to his clothing, technique and getaway.
Henrico Detectives are working with Richmond City Police Detectives to compare similarities between a recent bank robbery and others over the past month.
On Friday, Dec. 27, shortly after 5 p.m., the male suspect approached a teller inside the EVB Bank in the 8800 block of West Broad Street.
In similar fashion to the other crimes, this suspect passed a note to the teller demanding money. No weapon was displayed and there were no injuries.
The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was last seen walking on Homeview Drive towards Parham Road.
The suspect in Friday’s Henrico robbery is described as a black male, 6’0”-6’2”, 170-185 pounds, wearing a black hat, sunglasses, light colored button up shirt, and black pants.
Lt. Toney, with Henrico Police, have this one bank robbery in their area that fits the similar description of a suspect Richmond Police are investigating.
In Richmond there are at least three other crimes with similarities.

On Dec. 12 a BB&T bank near Patterson and Libbie Avenues was robbed.
On Dec. 4 a Gateway bank near Patterson and Willow Lawn was robbed.
In each robbery attempt the man is wearing sunglasses and a hat to conceal his identity.
And what looks like the same man used a sign to stick up the SunTrust bank in the 3000 block of Broad Street, back on Nov. 21.
